BackstocK

Everyday objects are reduced to basic shapes in silhouette charcoal drawings that lack marketing messages, color and branding. Text taken from product descriptions or advertising is re-inserted and blurs the line between the objects, how they are used and our connections to everyday goods.
The color pieces compliment the charcoal drawings by bringing back the color that has been removed. The palettes, inspired by packaging, are woven together in repetitive marks that show irregularities like handmade tapestries rather than factory made goods.
