cerrado - mexico city off hours

This photo series is a portrait of Mexico City’s vibrant shopping district seen after hours. By day, the streets are filled with people and products where it is possible to buy anything imaginable in stores, at stalls, or from wandering vendors. Desires are evoked, needs fulfilled and people gather to socialize, eat and shop.
When the stores close, metal doors come down and there is no buying or selling, no collective life or chance to window shop. The once bustling spaces are timeworn and dirty but sit silently for just a few hours until doors roll up again.
